One of the most recognizable plants in the spring forest, this trillium boasts a large white flower which slowly matures to pink. Like other woodland flowers, they are ephemeral - taking advantage of the full sun conditions before deciduous trees leaf out, and disappearing once the forest regains its shade in summer. The early spring flowers provide nectar for early-emerging native bees. They are slow to develop from seed, and usually take four to five years before blooming.
These plants were salvaged from a building site in a maple and beech forest. The one gallon size contains three plants.
Sun Exposure: Sun, Partial Shade, Shade (ideally beneath deciduous trees - full sun or dappled sunlight in the early spring, followed by light or medium shade as the season progresses and the trees leaf out)
Soil Moisture: Medium-Wet, Medium
Height: 1-2 feet
Bloom Time: May
Bloom Colour: White
Available in 1 gallon and 4” pots.
