One of the most cheerful spring ephemerals in the deciduous forest! The white flower slowly emerges from within a curled leaf, attracting early season mason and carpenter bees and closing in the evening. Once the flower fades, the uniquely shaped leaf fully opens and will eventually go dormant and disappear in mid-summer.
